Medics’ Inn Medical Placement Programme

Programme Aims & Objectives

Medics’ Inn provide medical placements for pre-medical school students or students at any stage in medical school. We appreciate how difficult and overwhelming it can be to get quality medical experience in a foreign country. Medics’ Inn Medical Placement Programme will add value to your medical school application and can give you the experience for you need to stand out in an interview.

Our programme objectives are adapted to the General Medical Council (GMC) standards of good medical practice:

  • Knowledge, skills and performance:
    • To demonstrate their clinical knowledge through history taking, physical examinations, developing differential diagnoses, interpreting investigations and discussing management plans.
    • To follow-up patients and explore the outcome of interesting cases.
    • To practice appropriate clinical and surgical skills under supervision.
    • To take part in case presentations and clinical discussions within the department.
  • Safety and quality:
    • To assess the safety measures in place in the Nigerian healthcare system.
    • To have a positive impact by engaging in clinical audits or quality improvement projects to improve clinical practice and patient safety.
  • Communication, partnership and teamwork:
    • To work within a highly skilled and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team.
    • To assist in the provision of healthcare to a demanding population.
    • To contribute to the teaching and training of doctors, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
