Programme Aims & Objectives
Medics’ Inn provide medical placements for pre-nursing school students or nursing students at any stage in medical school. We appreciate how difficult and overwhelming it can be to get quality nursing experience in a foreign country. Medics’ Inn Nursing Elective or Placement Programme will add value to your nursing school application or career and can give you the experience for you need to stand out in an interview.
Our programme objectives are adapted to The Code of the Nursing and Midwifery Council:

- To advise on, prescribe, supply, dispense or administer medicines within the limits of your training and competence, the law, our guidance and other relevant policies, guidance and regulations

- To provide leadership to make sure people’s wellbeing is protected and to improve their experiences of the health and care system

Specialties include: Anaesthesia & Intensive Care; Community Medicine; Dental and Maxillofacial surgery; Ears Nose & Throat; Family medicine; General Medicine Inc. cardiology, nephrology & gastroenterology; General Surgery; Haematology; Internal Medicine; Neurosurgery; Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Oncology; Ophthalmology; Orthopaedic Surgery; Paediatrics & Neonatology; Pathology; Plastic surgery; Radiology.
Medics’ Inn work hard to provide participants with their first-choice, although participants are reminded, placements are provided on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
Medics’ Inn Nursing Placement/Elective Package Programme includes:
- 2-8-week (flexible) clinical placement
- Placement confirmation letter
- Welcome pack – including: notebook, stationary, Medics’ Inn gift, checklist, thorough placement guide covering geographic information, educational material, health advice and more.
- Personal protective equipment – disposable latex free gloves, disposable aprons, disposable theatre hats, disposable theatre masks, antibacterial gel and disinfectant wipes (for surgical specialties and additional fee)
- Placement supervisor
- Return airport transfer
- Accommodation
- Water & food – breakfast, lunch and dinner for the duration of the placement
- Support with changing foreign currency
- Leadership opportunities such as quality improvement projects, clinical audits, medical research and teaching during the placement
- Support with tourism & social events such as live performances, Afrobeats, dance classes, handwoven Batik clothing, tours and more.
- End of placement evaluation form
